How do I prevent duplicate alerts showing both from the iOS calendar / reminders app and Agenda?

To stop seeing event and reminder alerts from both Agenda and the iOS calendar application (Calendar), follow the steps below.

  • Go to Settings.app → Notifications.
  • Browse to the iOS calendar app, listed as “Calendar” and toggle “Alert Style” to “None.”
  • Browse to “Agenda” and toggle “Alert Style” to “Banners” or “Alerts.” Alternatively, you may also want to toggle “View in Lock Screen” to “On,” if you’d also like to see the alert when the device is locked.
  • Open Agenda to allow it to recognize these new settings.
  • Alerts will now bring you to Agenda.

You should also follow these steps if you’d like Agenda alerts to show in Notification Center.

  • Go to Settings.app → Notifications.
  • Browse to the iOS calendar app, listed as “Calendar” and toggle “Notification Center” to “Off.”
  • Browse to “Agenda” and toggle “Notification Center” to “On.”
  • Event alerts that have triggered now will show in Notification Center.

Note that Agenda cannot display upcoming events in Notification Center as that is not a feature available to third-party developers.
